1. Zonta is not liable for any personal losses or damages resulting from the attendance to this conference.

2. Travel to and from the conference is at your own risk.

3. Please check that your health insurance covers your stay in Zermatt.


DRESS CODES

The dress code for the business sessions and throughout the conference is business casual.

For the welcome evening at Sunnegga (2'238m), casual wear and warm clothes

(If you wear high heels, please be aware of the pavements of a mountain village).

Cocktail attire is only required for the gala dinner.


OPENING CEREMONY

The opening ceremony is included in the registration fee and will take place on Friday September 24 from 16.30 to 18.00 in the church of  Zermatt, (St. Mauritius, Kirchplatz, Zermatt). 7 minutes by foot from Alex Hôtel.

CREDENTIAL

Credentials registration forms are available via the conference website. Credentials and proxy forms must be sent to the respective Area Directors with a copy to the D30 Secretary latest by June 30, 2021.  For accreditation at the conference, a signed copy of the credentials and proxy forms must be presented. One signed copy must also be kept in your club files. The credentials desk opens on Thursday morning at 8.00 and half an hour before each business meeting.

GALA EVENING

The gala event for registered participants will take place at the Hôtel Alex  on Saturday evening 25, from 18.45 to 24.00. A welcome glass of wine will be offered by the Governor Fabienne Moulin. A 4-course menu and entertainment are provided.

Reservation is required (cost 95.- Euros per person, water & wine at your own expense).


GUIDED CITY TOUR

A guided tour, by foot, of the historical village of Zermatt for registered participants is planned for Friday morning 24th of September. Languages offered are English, French and Bulgarian.


INFORMAL GET-TOGETHER

For participants and guests arriving on Wednesday September 22 an informal get-together at the restaurant Alex will take place starting from 19.00 until 21.30.

Reservations for this event are required via the registration form.

Please note that conference attendance is NOT required to join the informal get-together. All Zontians and their guests are welcome.


CLIMATE

For outdoor tours, warm and waterproof clothing, as well as comfortable shoes are recommended.


PHOTOS AND PRESS

Photos taken during the conference may be shared and used in press and/or social media.

A Zontian will be in charge of taking pictures that will be posted on the Conference website.


PROXY

Proxy forms are available via the conference website.

Proxy forms must be sent to the respective Area Directors with a copy to the D30 Secretary at the latest per June 30, 2021.

For the accreditation at the conference, a signed copy of the proxy form must be presented. One signed copy must also be kept in the club files.

Please note that a club cannot be represented by proxy at more than two consecutive conferences.


PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Zermatt is a car-free village. The hotels take care of the reception of their guests at the train station of Zermatt, in principle free of charge, it is enough to call 20' in advance.

The cabs are electric. Numerous companies are at the disposal of the customers 24 hours a day.


REGISTRATION

1. Registration will commence on May 1st, 2021. To be liable for early registration your total conference fee must be credited to the conference account at the latest by June 30, 2021.

2. Registration desk (opening hours during the conference) :

TRANSLATIONS

The official language of the conference is English.

However, translation services will be offered in French, German, Italian and Bulgarian.

Simultaneous translation will be provided throughout the conference, as well as during the Friday roundtable and Saturday workshops.


VISA REQUIREMENTS

Participants from Shengen countries should not need a visa. Please check out the visa information at https://www.swiss-visa.ch/

CANCELLATION POLICY (Registration)

1. All cancellations must be sent via our website, under contact – registration

2. Cancellations received on or before July 15, 2021 will be refunded less a contribution of Euros 50.- to cover administration fees.

3. 50% of the registration fee will be refunded, if cancelled before August 15, 2021

4. The registration fee is non-refundable after August 15, 2021

5. In case of cancellation, due to Covid-19, decision taken by the organizing committee of the DC, the total amount of the registration fee will be refunded. The same will apply in case of cancellation taken by a Club (for all participants of a Club), due to Covid-19 further to local restrictions impacting cross-border travels.

WELCOME RECEPTION AND DINNER

For registered participants, the Welcome reception and dinner will take place on Friday 24 from 18.30 to 22.00 on Sunnegga. Sunnegga means "sunny corner".

The ride on the funicular from the starting station in Zermatt to Sunnegga takes only 4.5 minutes. It runs through a rock tunnel inside the mountain and reaches a sunny terrace with a breathtaking view. There, an aperitif - glass of wine or water - offered by the Mayor of Zermatt will be served, facing the Matterhorn, where the view is incomparable. Then we will have a 3-course meal (cost 58.- Euros per person, water & wine at your own expense).

Around 21.30 we will take the funicular back to Zermatt and 6 minutes by foot to Alex Hotel.

PARKING

Zermatt is a car-free village. You can drive to Täsch (5km from Zermatt). From there, you can take the shuttle train or use a cab or limousine service to get to Zermatt.

The official Täsch terminal offers 2'100 covered parking spaces. But Zonta has reserved parking spaces with a private supplier (opposite the terminal): Parkhaus - Taxi Rocky - tel +41 27 967 40 30, for the price of CHF 10.- per day.

In Täsch you have to change to the shuttle train running every 20' between Täsch-Zermatt. Individual and easy loading of luggage can be used from the Terminal to Zermatt train station  (free carts, deposit CHF 5.-)

COVID-19

On 14.09.2021, the Conference Organising Committee received a favourable opinion on the protection plan that will be in force in Zermatt.
The protection plan will be applied without exception.
